Lombardini22’s renovation work for the office building in Zona Bicocca, Milan, has given more character to the division of the façade to create the current light overall image. Around each glazed panel is a metal frame in the same deep grey as the façade, creating a more dynamic surface with the rhythmically intervalled full and empty spaces. This is an upgrade where the solution has been 100% customised by Thema, which also led to improvements in thermal performance during summer.

The characteristic feature of this intervention is the fact that the existing windows are covered in solar control film and the application of aluminium frames attached to the existing structure, using a completely custom-made system. Thema worked on the casing and on preparing the site, the building works, the paintwork, ventilated façades, and leak tightness tests to guarantee the finished result.
