A trademark, balanced complex. developed by Luconi Architetti Associati. The design project for the headquarters of Pharmalife Research, a company that studies medicinal plants and derivatives, as well as developing new cosmetic and plant therapy formulas, integrates a high-tech image with careful use of materials. The building’s architecture and the design of the spaces – productive areas with extremely sophisticated plant, research laboratories and offices – come together to define a unitary complex in a prestigious setting.
Thema created a totally custom-made façade using a mix of iron, aluminium and glass, together with covering in alucobond. The seamless structural glazed section uses non-standard-size panes with an integrated shade system: the seamless structure consists of 68 panes, each weighing a tonne. The vast research into glass with the best possible technology to suit the project involved experimenting with 25 different glass samples. Thema is also responsible for the the automatic vestibule and entrance shade, which is totally covered in alucobond.
