Maurizio Varratta’s project involved the demolition and reconstruction (and expansion) of an old family property, now transformed into an eco-sustainable single-family house with high energy performance.
The building consists of two floors above ground characterised by large windows, consisting of highly performing double-glazing crystal windows from a thermal and acoustic point of view, with large minimal sliding doors which constantly connect the internal spaces of the house with the surrounding garden.
Thema has designed and manufactured custom automated two-element sunscreens, horizontal axis packaging of the knee type. With stainless steel frames and wooden modules, the system allows to shelter from the sunlight by creating a corner of privacy in a relaxing nautical mood.
Thema has also created the external pergola in painted steel designed ad hoc by Varratta which represents the pivot of the outdoor spaces together with the swimming pool and the garden with precious Mediterranean trees and shrubs.
