Type of intervention: Upgrade and expansion
Redesigned and extended by Aldo Rossi in 1988, this hotel was radically renovated and adapted to the international standards of the ME di Meliá brand, by Arassociati.
The interior design project is by Arassociati, Alvaro Sans and Nicola Gallizia Design. The greenery project is by E. Bortolotti AG&P Architettura for the surrounding gardens. While making the most of the original architecture, the project also added a belvedere overlooking the city: this new rooftop pavilion with panoramic restaurant was built by Thema. The new volumes, set back from the façade, are glazed and offer a lighter effect in terms of composition while not altering the original shape, which is enhanced by this new intervention. For the last floor of the hotel and the restaurant area, Thema also built the railings and fully opening sliding doors on both the interior and exterior of the room to create an all-glass effect.
